Linda Faye Schmidt

Faye was a native and life-long resident of Bulloch County and had worked as a nurse at Bulloch Memorial Hospital and East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Inez Sowell, brother, Danny Sowell and Thomas Wesley Sowell, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gaylan Schmidt of Statesboro; daughters, Linda Nease (Ronnie Blizzard) of Register; Mary Schmidt of Statesboro and Phyllis McVay (Donald) of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandchildren, Justin (Kara) Evans, Sylvania and Jessica (Jon) Geddis of Statesboro; 3 great grandchildren, Alyssa, L. J. (Jonathan) and Mackenzie; 3 sisters, June (Bill) Carroll of Lithonia, Dianne Buffington of Coopersburg, PA and Karen (Henry) McMichael of Sandersville; brother, Timmy (Pat) Faircloth of Statesboro and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 25 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 26 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association of the Coastal Empire, C/O Bank of America, 1806 Rittenburg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
