

Mr. Barnes was born in Pulaski and graduated from Candler County High School and lived many years in Guyton before moving to Brooklet 15 years ago. He retired with 43 years of service from the Union Camp Corporation and was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed spent time outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, William Tilton and Dolan Williams Barnes and a brother, Wayne Barnes.
He is survived by wife, Blanche Barnes of Brooklet; son, Lloyd William Barnes and his wife, Kim of Pulaski; 3 step-sons, Billy Cook and his wife, Marina of Newport, TN; Lewis Cook and his wife, Cindy and Grady Cook and his wife, Angie all of Brooklet; daughter, O’deborah Arnsdorff and her husband Tony of Guyton; 4 sisters, Elsie Huggins of Oliver; Karen Woodcock of Metter; Rachel Rossen and her husband Tony of Statesboro and Geraldine Boyette of Pulaski; aunt, Melba Hendrix of Statesboro, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 18 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 19 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Tyler Campbell officiating.
Burial will be in Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
