

Mrs. Meyers was born in Williamsburg County, SC and was a longtime resident of Statesboro. Lucy was a member of Statesboro First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member the Church Circle and was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club, the Magnolia Garden Club and was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Edward and Lillie Cannon Burrows, and her step-father, Roy E. Stokes and her husband of 73 years, John C. Meyers, Sr.
She is survived by her son, John C. Meyers, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Pasadena, MD, daughter, Shirley Meyers D’Amico and her husband, Skip of Baton Rouge, LA, granddaughter, Meaghan Meyers of Pasadena, MD, grandsons, Howard Bonaventure and his wife, Lisa of Watson, LA; Karl Meyers and his wife Denise and Erik Meyers all of New Burn, NC, 4 great grandchildren, Kandice Dawn Bonaventure, Charlie Meyers, J. Stephen Bonaventure and Amie C. Norton.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 31 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August, 1 in Statesboro First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dan Lewis officiating. Mrs. Meyers will lie in state from 10:00 AM Friday until the funeral hour.
Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will grandsons, Karl H. Meyers, Erik C. Meyers, J. Howard Bonaventure, Charlie Meyers, J. Stephen Bonaventure, and family friend, Bill Fry.
