

Mrs. Mildred Thompson Scott, age 86, died early Wednesday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was a longtime resident of Bulloch County and was an active member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church. Mrs. Scott worked for many years at Sea Island Bank and Georgia Southern University for 20 years in the comptroller's office. She had a great love for Georgia Southern football and basketball. Mrs. Scott served for many years as an advisor for Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas C. (Charlene) Scott of Fair Play, S.C., and Edward A. (Rachel) Scott of Powder Springs, Ga.; six grandchildren, Zak (Tonya) Jackson, Jennifer (Todd) Fink, Sam (Kerri) Scott, Carrie (Jon) Rafferty, Matthew Scott and Amanda Scott; seven great-grandchildren, Issac Fink, Patrick Fink, Alec Fink, Joshua Jackson, Alorah Scott, Haylee Scott and Ava Rafferty; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-6:30 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Statesboro First Baptist Church with Dr. John Waters and Dr. H. William Perry officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Camilla Boyd Sunday School Class.
Burial will be in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
