
Patricia N. Glisson, 70, of Statesboro, passed away on January 26 after an extended illness. She has joined her parents, Curtis and Louise Lee in eternal rest.
Pat was born in Statesboro, Georgia on January 4, 1943. She graduated from Statesboro High School and continued her education later in life, earning an Associates Degree from Waycross College in Waycross, Ga.
She enjoyed a long career as a dental hygienist before transitioning to work for the Georgia Department of Corrections and retiring in 2006.
She is survived by two children, Gene Hudson Nevil (Christie), of Blackshear, GA, and Gina Nevil Farrell (Bob), of Guyton, GA, a sister, Betty Heath Chester (Thomas) of Statesboro, GA, and five aunts: Daisy Edenfield of Waynesboro, GA, Annabel Banks of Statesboro, GA, Mary Nell Cartee (Jimmy) of Statesboro, GA, Vivian Cooper (George) of Lawton, OK, and Sue Tucker (Freddie) of Statesboro, GA and one uncle, JC Deal of Enterprise, AL. Pat was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She especially enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and caring for her dog, Nemo.
The family will receive visitors at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow in the chapel at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity or the Humane Society of Statesboro/Bulloch County, or you may choose to honor her life and legacy by following her own wishes; “It is my belief that one is never closer to God than when nurturing creations; in memory of me-plant a tree.”
