W. Randy Deal

W. Randy Deal, age 55, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and graduated from Statesboro High School. Randy worked at Bulloch Telephone for many years before joining Planters Telephone in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Wyman H. Deal.

Survivors include his mother, Shelva Jean Deal; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris (Nichole) Deal, Marshall (Lindsay) Deal; one grandson, Wyman James Deal; aunts and uncles, Carolyn (Leo ) Hotchkiss, Betty Deal, Dan (Dot) Rushing, Dot Cowart, Jerry (Barbara) Rushing and Mack (Janet) Rushing, all of Statesboro; and several cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Hotchkiss, Steve Corbett, Ronald Deal, Wayne Lee, Robert Farmer, and Ron Perry.

Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of Planters Telephone.

Interment will be in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
