

She was born January 17, 1931, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Jesse F. and Hester Rash Henderson. She was a retired floor supervisor from Blackwelder Manufacturing and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Harmony. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on October 25, 2003, by her husband, Thomas Harold Cranfill, whom she married on March 1, 1945; five brothers, Cletus, John, Bristol, Paul and Frank Henderson; and a sister, Gladys Gregory.
She is survived by a daughter, Vivian Hix (Alan) of Harmony; two grandchildren, John Bradley Thompson (Allison) and Thomas Craig Thompson (Jodi); four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, David, Dalton, Sara Beth Thompson; and three sisters, Lucille Stroud (Kenneth), JoAnn Holbrook, and Fern Barnette, all of Harmony.
Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2012, at Diamond hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Holleman, Carl Williams, and Bobby Henderson officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Harmony.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM this evening (Thursday) at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will assemble at the daughter’s home, 3105 Harmony Highway, Harmony.
