Billy "Mickey" Fred Chapman

He was born January 16, 1933, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Fred and Mary Chapman. He was a US Army veteran, owner and operator of H&M Trucking Company and a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Lewin and Betty Norris; and a brother, Jack Chapman.

Billy is survived by his wife, Shirley Doby Chapman, whom he married on September 11, 1955; a son, Brian F. Chapman (Stacy) of Statesville; a daughter, Kristen Parker (Jarrod) of Troutman; and five grandchildren, Wren, Kade and Paxton Parker, and William and Catherine Chapman.

Memorial service celebrating Billy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Skip Cartin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Thursday at the church prior to the service.
