He was born October 10, 1960, in Statesville and was the son of Nonnie Goodin Hefner and the late Dewey Lee Hefner. He had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Union Grove.
He is survived by two daughters, Wendy (Jason) Evans of Harmony and Stephanie Hefner of Statesville; his mother, Nonnie G. Hefner of Statesville; two sisters, Brenda (Peter) Lepuschitz of Sanford, FL and Linda (Nathan) Abee of Newton; five brothers, Roscoe (Rachel) Hefner and Waco (Nancy) Hefner both of Harmony, Robert Hefner of Newton, Donald (Sandy) Hefner and Danny (Lisa) Hefner both of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, Indian Hill Road, Union Grove. Burial will follow at in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 26, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
