Debra Sue Liller

Debbie was born on January 15, 1954, in Keyser West Virginia to the late Melvin Lee Wilson and Juanita Frances Arthur Wilson. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Debbie always had a love for music. She sang in a Gospel group, The Zion Crusaders, with her mother and two of her sisters. They travelled to numerous places sharing the good news of the Gospel to many people through their music. Debbie served on the worship team at her church, Cornerstone of Victory, for over 25 years. She was highly anointed to play the flute and sing. Debbie always loved helping others. She became a nurse and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital following 21 years of service as an RN. In her free time, Debbie loved tending to her flowers, camping, and spending quality time with the ones she loved. Debbie was a blessing to so many people. She married her husband Scott Joseph Liller on June 17, 1989. They shared a once in a lifetime kind of love.

In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wilson, and a sister, Joann Wilson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Scott Liller, daughter Ashley Mahaffey (Nicholas), grandchildren Annabelle Grace Mahaffey and Ian Joseph Mahaffey, three sisters Barbara Sproull (Dennis) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Nancy Morgan (Eddie) of Keyser, WV, Rebecca Pyles (Rob) of Cumberland, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM at Cornerstone of Victory Church, located at 650 Glover St. in Statesville. A service celebrating Debbie’s life will follow at 6:30 PM with Pastor Grover Crosswhite, Pastor Tad Taylor and Pastor Dennis Sproull officiating. A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
