He was a native of Iredell County, born November 2, 1962, a son of the late Don Allen Barker, Sr., and Sue Jenkins Barker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Goodwin.
Before his disability, Allen was co-manager of Barkers 21 Grocery Store and was a member of Rose Chapel United Methodist Church.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Allen is survived by a son, Michael Barker of Harmony, his dog "Precious" and his close friend, Robert Taylor.
Memorial Services celebrating Allen's life will be held Satuarday at 11 a.m. at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church following the service.
