Dorothy Jordan Moore

Born in Iredell County on August 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Henry Leon Jordan and Ella Shoemaker Jordan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Leonard, Edgar, Clyde, Zella, Della, Gertie, Owen, Romie, Hughes, Edna and Lankford.

Dorothy attended Central High School and spent her life loving and caring for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a faithful, life-long member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She loved to read her bible; enjoyed her flowers and birds.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Fred Moore; sons, Kenneth Moore, and Albert Moore (Wanda); daughters, Carol Moore Massey (Bobby) and Kay Moore Hefner; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at New Prospect Baptist Church with the service beginning at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. James Moore, Rev. Josh Byrd, Rev. Mark Robinette and Rev. Dwight Dowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Moore, Brandon Moore, Jeremy Moore, Joe Hefner, Jeremy King and Brent Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be David Anderson, Billy Jordan, Donald Bustle, Larry Goodin, Glenn Moore and Bjorn Christensen.
