Born August 23, 1947 in Seattle Washington, he was the son to the late Thomas and Rose Mae Henderson. Edgar was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Coming from a large family, he was the third oldest sibling raised in the traditional Catholic environment. He was the pillar amongst his siblings and was a father figure to everyone. Edgar loved starting conversations and asserting his honest opinion. After 33 years of service he retired from US West, and then he pursued his dream career in law enforcement. He then went on to the Federal Courts in the Parole Department and worked as a drug analyst. In his last years of life he and his wife relocated to North Carolina where he did volunteer work and enjoyed his grandkids. He will be greatly remembered by his family, friends and all that knew him.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Bennett.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Janice Henderson; son, Edgar A. Henderson Jr.,
and wife Amelia; daughters, Nicole Rochelle Henderson and Walletta Catrina Henderson;
nine grandchildren; 11 brothers; five sisters and many other loving family members.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11am at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Mooresville.
