Elsie Marie Bennett Ladd

Elsie Marie Bennett Ladd, 81, of Statesville passed away on January 12, 2016. Born to the late Clay and Daisy Bennett on August 3, 1934, she was raised in Iredell County and worked for 35 years for J.P. Stevens in their winding department. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Statesville.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ladd in 2001, her son, Randy Ladd in 2000 and her three brothers, Clay Bennett, Jr., William Floyd Bennett and Marvin E. Bennett.

Mrs. Ladd is survived by her three daughters, Susan Hartness and husband Ralph of Statesville, Wanda Leviner and husband Bill of Statesville and Lisa Walker and husband William of North Wilkesboro, NC, her sister Betty Bass of Statesville; her grandchildren, Keith Hartness and wife Tammy, Jeff Hartness and wife Sabrina, Jennifer Hartness, Amy Hartness, Greg Leviner and wife Elaine, Chris Leviner, Shana Rutherford and husband Cole, Brooklyn Walker, Heaven Walker, Adrianna Walker, and 10 great grandchildren.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016, at 1:00pm in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, with the burial to follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC.
