Mrs. Evelyn Marie Duncan Woodside, 88, of Statesville, died Thursday morning at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Catawba County on April 18, 1924, she was a daughter of the late S. Carl Duncan and Lela Mae Eckard Duncan.
Evelyn was retired from the former Hunter Manufacturing Company and was the church pianist for First Wesleyan Church for many years. On December 18, 1943, she married Willard Cathey Woodside who died on May 10, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Revonda Woodside Holland of Statesville, a grandson, Brian Curtis Skeens and his wife, Autumn, of Marion and two great grandsons, Brison Curtis Skeens and Nicholas Arnold Skeens.
Also surviving are sisters, Mrs. William (Delorys) Flowers of Newberry, S.C. and Mrs. Charles (Emma Lee) Shook of Conover.
Graveside services wil be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Stanley officiating.
