

Mrs. Overcash was born in Iredell County, July 6, 1927 to the late Wade Hampton Lippard and Myrtle Estelle Kates Lippard.
Evelyn was a graduate of Troutman High School, class of 1944. In October 1946, she married the love of her life, Lewis Brown Overcash. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage and Christian service before his death in July 2000. Both shared a love for gardening and preserving the bounties of their crops. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting for her family and friends. She will be especially remembered for her numerous birthday cakes, lovingly baked and decorated for her daughter and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant son, Alvin Brown Overcash; four brothers, Lawrence, W.P. (Press), W.H. (Jim), Grady (Bum) Lippard; and two sisters, Lucille (Lucy) Forbes and Blanche Pernell Bovinder.
Mrs. Overcash is survived by one daughter, Fran Parker-Dickerson (Tom) of York, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Alex Parker of Redding, California; David Parker (Mitsu) of Marietta, Georgia; and Teri Parker Lewis (William) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; four great-grandchildren Thomas Lewis, Kate Lewis, Ben Parker and Adam Parker. Additional survivors include two sisters, Ruby Long of Raleigh, North Carolina and Alta Pernell of Shelby, North Carolina.
Mrs. Overcash will remain at Bunch Johnson Funeral Chapel until interment at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Westport Baptist Church, 2372 Lakeshore Road South, Denver, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Summit Place Assisted Living, Mooresville, for their care of Evelyn the past two years; the staff of The Haven Memory Care, Pineville for their loving care of Evelyn her last ten weeks in addition to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their supportive care of Evelyn and her family during her final three weeks.
