Garleen Mitchell Henderson

Mrs. Henderson was born May 24, 1928 to the late Grover Roland Mitchell and Dorothy Money Mitchell. She had been a resident of The Gardens of Statesville for 5 years. She was a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church and worked for JP Stevenson Textiles for 28 years. Mrs. Henderson was a wonderful mom and caregiver to her aunt, uncle, father as well as her husband as their health declined. She loved animals especially her deceased pets, dogs Shorty and

Sassy and Mopie her cat.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Lloyd Henderson in 1990 and her sister, Clora Mitchell Souther in 1973.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Reba Jane Rumple and husband Steve and other loving family members.

The funeral service at will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the Bunch-Johnson Chapel. Burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dean Henderson, Byron Henderson, Gene Mahaffey, Leon Cass, Charles Cass and Leo Peredea. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kenneth Jarvis.

The family would like to give many thanks to The Garden Staff and the Hospice Staff for their kind and gracious care toward Mrs. Garleen. A special thanks to her sister-in-law, Edna Henderson for care giving assistance.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County 2341 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28625.
