She was a native of Rowan County born December 2, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Everette Murph Sr. and Temperence Steele.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by one brother: Everette "Pap" Murph, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Murph was a homemaker and a member of South River United Methodist Church where funeral services celebrating her life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Revs. Chris Williams and Randy Powell will officiate.
The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends in the church following the committal service.
