

Mr. Hampton Caleb “Tater” Lytton 69, of Mollys Backbone Road, Catawba, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hospice Sherrills Ford of Catawba Valley. He was born March 31, 1943 in Catawba County, son of the late Fred Hugh and Zula Olivia Christenbury Lytton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Campbell Lytton, two sisters; Elizabeth Jean Lytton Gilleland, Nancy Alice Joyce Lytton Lackey and one niece.
Tater worked with Commscope for 35 years and was a very reputable Brick Mason who was much in demand.
He is survived by sons, Mark Hampton Lytton and Kelly Bryan Lytton both of Sherrrills Ford and a grandson Cole Hampton Lytton. Siblings surviving are Hugh Victor Lytton, Lewis Wesley Lytton (Patsy) and Betty Olivia Lytton Long (Neven) all of Statesville; James Benton Lytton (Linda) of Claremont; Patsy Anne Louise Lytton Koutsogeorgas (George) of Charlotte and Sarah Anne Lytton Gardner Tate (Fred) of Manassas VA as well at sixteen nieces and nephews.

He was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church where services celebrating his life are scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Matt Rummage officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
