

Born in Cabarrus County on October 15, 1927, he was a son of the late John LeRoy Plummer and Mary Lou Hooks Plummer. He was a retired salesman in the leather goods industry and was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church in Concord. He enjoyed bluegrass music, gardening and playing guitar. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having received two medals while in service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian James Plummer, a brother, Johnny Plummer, a sister, Louise Yates and a step son, Roger Church.
On April 10, 1988, he married the former Caroldean Millsaps Church who survives. Also surviving are a son, Danny Plummer (Lanita) of Albemarle, a daughter, Debbie Ward (David) of Mt. Pleasant, step children: Billy Eugene Church (Earlene) of Statesville, Debbie Hendren of Harmony, Susan Caniobello of New Hampshire and Sandra Gatton (Perry) of Harmony.
Additional survivors include 3 brothers, his twin brother, William L. Plummer (Sue) of Washington State, George Plummer (Shirley) of Midland, N.C. and Donald Plummer (Brenda) of Harrisburg, N.C., two sisters, Jane Walters and Agnes Williams, both of Hrrisburg, N.C., grandchildren: Kip Ray Plummer (Nita), Kelly Plummer (Lauren), Erika Canciobello and Kylee Canciobello, step grandchildren: Rikki and MacKenzie Morrison, and a great grandaughter, Carolina Plummer.
Services celebrating Ross' life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2012, at Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Darren Johnson and the Rev. William Wease officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites presented by the American Legion Post # 113 of Harmony.
The family will then receive friends following the commital service in the fellowship hall.
