

Mr. James “Pete” Dale Lamberth, 83, of Troutman, North Carolina went to his home in Heaven on Saturday March 24, 2012, at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Iredell County, December 31, 1928, son of the late James Pinkney and Nora Viola Bennett Lamberth.
J.D. served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1957, during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the A. L. Shaver Chair Company where he was a supervisor. He loved Bluegrass music, playing the mandolin and guitar.
On December 18, 1954, he married his beloved wife of 57 years, Nancy McGee Lamberth, who survives of the home.
Preceding him in death were his parents; great-granddaughter, Briana Shea Steele; and siblings, Otha Lamberth, Otto Lamberth, Kinley Lamberth, Eugene Benfield, Bryant Benfield, Marie Mills, Ethel Payne, Bonnie Malboeuf, Viola Karriker, Vera Robinson and Ruth Smithey.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children; Gary Lamberth (Becky), Robin L. Dillard (Dwight) and the entire Dillard Family, and a special son Dennis Alley; grandchildren, Ryan D. Dillard (Alaina), Christie N. Dillard (Mike), Jennifer Lamberth (Jody) and Bradley S. Steele (Renee); great grandchildren, Dylan Combs, Jay D. Dillard, Bailey Steele and Mia Dillard; siblings, Jason A. Lamberth (Carol) and Dorothy L. Gwaltney; special sister–in-law, Bobbie Fulbright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating J. D.’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Landmark Church of God, with Bill Reavis and the Rev. Conner Lambert officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens, with veteran’s rites accorded at the graveside by the Iredell County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason York, Jason Martin, Larry Dillard, Chris Lamberth, John Grant, Kenny Bowden and Jamie Dillard. All his musician friends and their wives will be honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Angels of Mercy at Gordon Hospice House, Dr. Jimmy Ruiz and Staff at the Salisbury VA Hospital, and Dr. John Nicholson and Staff at Piedmont Health Care.

Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Lamberth.
