

Mr. Joseph Harry Wallace, 87 years old of Statesville took the walk with his Lord on Tuesday May 3, 2016 from Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Born in Cabarrus County on Nov. 6, 1928 to the late James Felix Wallace and Allie Mae Gibson Wallace. Joseph retired from United Merchants with over 40 years of service. He also served in the US Army and was discharged at the rank of Corporal. He was a member of Landmark Church of God.
Mr. Wallace was predeceased by the love of his life for 64 years, Mary Aileen Killian Wallace and his brothers, Edward William Wallace, Sr. and Walter “Wally” Wallace. He is survived by his two special sons, Kenneth Wallace and his wife Debbie of Statesville and Edward William Wallace, Sr. and his fiancé Heather of Hickory; his brother, Harvey Mack Wallace, Sr. of Statesville; his sister, Millie Allen of Statesville; special friends, Max and Helen Grant; three special grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-9pm at the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Friday 2pm at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gordon Hospice House or the Landmark Church of God in Joseph’s memory.
