Kathleen Brown Evans

She was born September 19, 1922, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Willie Daniel Brown and Katie Warren Brown Beaver. She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the Young at Heart group and was active for many years in the Women’s Bible Study. She retired from Nieman Industries and enjoyed crocheting, Knitting and sewing.

On September 17, 1939, she married Kenneth D. Evans, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 29, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Priscilla Evans; three sisters, Mary Money, Eloise Upright and Betty Hager; and a brother, William Brown.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth D. Evans, Jr. (Devona) of Matthews; two sisters, Barbara Hillard (Pressley) and Bina McHargue; and a half-brother, David Beaver (Margie), all of Statesville.

Funeral services celebrating Kathleen’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2012, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Boyer officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
