Larry Franklin Waters

He was born July 16, 1944, in Kings Mountain, NC, and was the son of the late Leon Aubrey and Shula Wright Waters. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was former co-owner of Hines Lady’s Clothing Shop in Statesville and later owner and operator of Larry Waters’s Sales Company. He was a faithful believer in the Lord and a member of Forest Park Presbyterian Church. He was a devoted husband, father and Pawpaw who enjoyed spending time with his family because they were his greatest joy and main priority. He also enjoyed basketball and was a devout Carolina Tar Heels fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Waters.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Juanita Elaine Hines Waters, whom he married on September 25, 1966; two daughters, Wendy Waters Clark and Kerry Ann Waters; two grandchildren, Brittney Elaine Clark and Ian Franklin Clark, all of Statesville; a sister, Audrey Elizabeth Waters Gennusa of Statesville; and a brother, Leon Carroll Waters of Aiken, SC.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
