

She was born in Iredell County on October 6, 1922, and she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Link McHargue. Lessie's first job was at the hosiery mill where she worked for many years. She was well known for her ability to sew and touched many lives and made many memories through sewing. In 1980, she began operating Markee Fabrics for many years, and later, she moved to JCPenny alterations. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
On August 19, 1939, she married Mr. Arlin Lake Jordan who preceded her in death on February 12, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Jordan White; a great-grandchild, Jonah Pressly Jordan; three brothers: James Harvey McHargue, L. G. McHargue and J.M. McHargue; and two sisters, Lorene Tucker Hutchins and Helen Pauline McHargue.
Survivors include two sons, William A. Jordan and his wife, Brenda, of Middleburg, FL and Randy Jordan and his wife, Laura, of Lincolnton; a son-in-law, J. Pressly White of Statesville; a sister, Eva Mae McHargue Taylor of Statesville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Martin, Jay White, Chauncy Jordan, Angela Archer, Allen Jordan and Micheal Jordan; and thirteen great-grancdhildren.
Services celebrating Lessie's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Cook and the Rev. Allen Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
