Mrs. Marie Lackey West

She was a native of Iredell County, born on September 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Thomas Smith and Maude Hortense Webber Lackey.

She had retired from Uniglass Industries after 41 years of service. On March 25, 1945 she married Bascum Arthur West who preceded her in death on September 27, 1987. In additon to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Brady Lee West.

Mrs. West is survived by two sons: Kent Bascum West, and Ronald Dale West and his wife Carolyn, and a daughter: Linda Lavell Martin and her husband Thomas, all of Statesville, two brothers, five sisters, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Command Baptist Church with the Rev's. Jim Morgan and James Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken home to 181 Grayson Park Road on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m.
