Born in Wilkes County on August 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Mattie Wingler Shepherd. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Ray Neaves and her second husband, Gary Delano Massey.
Mary worked several years as a Greeter at Walmart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mike Neaves of Statesville, Tim Neaves of Stony Point, Keith Neaves of Harmony , Rick Neaves of Statesville, Randy (Pam) Neaves of Troutman and Lisa (Mike) McGee of Mooresville; two brothers, Steve Shepherd and James Shepherd; two sisters, Ann and Margo; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
