Mrs. Mary Anna Summers

Mary Anna McCoy Summers, 81, of Statesville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Mrs. Summers was born on December 27, 1937 in Iredell County, the daughter of the late David Glenn and Daisy Wilhelm McCoy. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s Nursery for many years. She also worked at Lynn Dale Day Care for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Everette Wayne Summers. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Billie Morrison and two half-brothers, Donnie and Ronnie McCoy.

Mrs. Summers is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Summers Percy and husband Chad of Statesville and Karen Summers Osborne and husband Rob, also of Statesville. Two brothers, Rex McCoy of Statesville and Junior McCoy of Troutman; a half-brother Jimmy McCoy, five grandchildren, Spencer Percy and wife Kelsey of Matthews, NC, Katelyn Parlier and husband Braiden of Statesville, Tyler Osborne, Brett Hudson, and Zack Osborne, all of Statesville; and one great-grandson, Santford “Ford” Baker Parlier; her best friend Rosa Lloyd and her “family” at the Gardens of Statesville, also survive her.

Services celebrating Mrs. Summer’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Oakdale Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Matthew Eades and the Rev. Beth B. Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
