

He was born July 21, 1941, in Olin, NC, and was the son of the late J.B. and Billie Donaldson Snow. He was a lay speaker for the United Methodist Churches in the North Iredell area for 30 years before following his true calling into full-time ministry for 16 years. He served the following churches: Sandy Ridge, Fairmont, Snow Creek, Moss Chapel in the North Iredell area and Memorial UMC in Kannapolis. He was the director of Methodist Motorsports Evangelism for the UMC Western NC Conference for 10 years. He was the associate pastor and Sunday school teacher at Clarksbury UMC in Harmony where he also served as a member of the Building Team, Matthew 25 Ministries, Choir member and Administrative Council. During his retirement, he was always honored and enthusiastic to go to other churches in Iredell and Davie Counties sharing God’s love. He was a current volunteer reader with Mrs. Roberts’ class at Harmony Elementary School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kecil Reeves and Annie Lou Martin; and two brothers, J.L. Snow and James “Dick” Snow.
Otis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joetta McMahon Snow, whom he married on October 24, 1965; three daughters, Tracy Plott of Harmony, Susan Snow (Maclain Bryant) of Winston-Salem, and Lori Snow of Statesville; two grandchildren, Leah Harrelson (Evan) of Hudson and Evan Plott of Harmony; a great-granddaughter, Carley Harrelson of Hudson; two sisters, Fannie Gaither (Wilbur) of Harmony and Julia Tomberlin of Texas; and three brothers, S.T. Snow (Ruth) of Mocksville, Gene Snow and Leroy Snow (Betty), both of Harmony.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will be assembled at the home.
Funeral services celebrating Rev. Snow’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Clarksbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mandy Jones and the Rev. Michael Shufford officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jeremiah McMahon, Dean Gaither, Larry Gaither, David Snow, David Ball, Stan Stroud, Jacob Stroud, Josh Snow and Dickie Snow will serve as active pallbearers. United Methodist ministers and pastors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
