

He was born October 14, 1944, of Catawba County, and was the son of the late Earlie and Jessie Mae Martin Brown. He was a truck driver for many years and retired from Huffman Grading Company. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and a regular patron of Waffle House Restaurant which recognized him for fifty years of customer loyalty. He enjoyed horses and working with his horse, Krizzy, who won blue ribbons for barrel racing and worked as a therapy horse for handicapped children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Teague.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Todd (David) of Conover and Jesse Moore (fiancee, Billy Peek) of Drexel; five grandchildren, D.J. Todd (Erica), Stephanie Todd Bolick (Cory), and Miranda Lane (Justin Mullins), all of Newton, Michael Todd (fiancée, Heather Wagner) of Fort Drum, NY, and Jamie Lane (Chastity) of Morganton.
Funeral services celebrating Cowboy’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Olivet Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Rummage officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service.
