

Born September 21, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy Dellinger and Effie Horton Dellinger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Loreen Benfield and Dorothy Mae Dellinger; brothers, Harold Dellinger and Donald Allen Dellinger, and her husband, J.D. Sharpe.
Mrs. Sharpe worked in the textile industry and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. She received Jesus as her Lord and Savior early in life and was baptized in May 1946 at Front Street Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Diana Sharpe of Statesville; one brother, Rev. Joe Dellinger and wife Louise; two sisters, Nancy Shoemaker and husband, Rev. Fred Shoemaker and Brenda Grant; sister-in-laws, Rosella Phillips and Georgie Dellinger; grandchildren, Shelina (Brad), Kim (Chris), Brian (Junko), Joey, Brandi and Chris; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jessica, Madison, Erika, Ava, Tristan, and Cody and one-great-great- grandchild, Paislee.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
The funeral service celebrating Ruby’s life will be held at Hillside Baptist Church on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Fred Shoemaker and Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. Burial will be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
