

Theda Fortner Rogers, 90, 128 Autumn Leaf, Troutman, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County, on May 2, 1920, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Callie Troutman Fortner. She was a cafeteria worker with the public schools, enjoyed reading, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was married to George Washington Rogers who preceded her in death as well as brothers Allen and Clyde Fortner.
Survivors include her son Dale Rogers (Sue) of Troutman and daughter Gail Troutman (Thomas) of Statesville, grandchildren; Lisa R. Estes (Gary), Brent E. Rogers, Bradley Troutman (Lisa), and Marcus Troutman (Trina). Four Great grandchildren are Chad Matthew Estes, Benjamin Luke Estes, Logan Clark Rogers, and Austin Thomas Troutman and one brother, Jerry Wayne Fortner of Statesville.
Graveside services celebrating her life are scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jamie Fox officiating. Her family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Theda leaves behind a lot of dear friends and the family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Keith Gatlin and the staff of Iredell Memorial Hospital 4th floor and to her special caregiver.
