Thelma Jean Joyner Stafford

She was born May 30, 1933, in Iredell County and was a daughter of the late Clinton and Effie Cook Joyner. She worked for many years for Belk's and was a hard worker. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Wilson.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Jewel Stafford of Flat Rock, NC, Linda Edmund and her husband, Darryl, of Myrtle Beach and Lisa Bryan and her husband, John of Mooresville; a brother, Sonny Joyner of Oak Island; a half-sister, Ruth Sidbury of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous grandchildren; and her dog, Sugar.

Graveside servive will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 7, 2014, at Iredell Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tommy Southern officiating.

The family will speak with friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
