

Born in Iredell County, he was the son of Harold Levi Bumgarner and Mary Annie Barnhardt Bumgarner, who survive him.
He worked in saw milling and later became disabled due to his declining health.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is also survived by one son, Thomas Brian Bumgarner of Mocksville; two grandchildren, Dylan and Levi; three brothers, Jerry Wayne Bumgarner, David Andrew “Andy” Bumgarner and wife Jane, and Gary Dale Bumgarner, all of Cleveland and one sister, Janice Norton and husband Melvin of Statesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 P Monday, November 9, 2015 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Old Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Hannah officiating. Mr. Bumgarner will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Bumgarner, Steven Bumgarner, Jonathan Bumgarner, Jeffery Bumgarner, Joe Cashion and Andrew Barnhardt.
