Mr. Thomas Nelson Whittenburg

Born on July 13, 1952 in Iredell County, North Carolina, he was the son to the late Tug and Rosalee Stevenson Whittenburg.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 20 plus years, Gayle Houpe Whittenburg; brother’s Lonzo Whittenburg and James Stevenson and sister, Frances Byers.

Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Dawn ( Kender Sr.) Thompson and Thomas Whittenburg Jr.; grandchildren, Corey Whittenburg, Kender Thompson Jr, Shaniqwa Whittenburg, and Ja’Kari Whittenburg; great-grandchildren, Alayisha Whittenburg, Amayah Whittenburg, and Amir Whittenburg; brother, John Whittenburg; sisters, Sadie McCoy, Martha Whittenburg, Betty Ann Bias and Sylvia Byers and many other loving family members.

A home going service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2pm in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery.

Mr. Whittenburg will lie in state 30 minors prior to the service in the chapel.
