

Born in Robeson County, NC, on March 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James Alex Smith and Stella Chavis Smith.
Mrs. Allen had worked at Thornburg Hosiery, and was a volunteer Pink Lady at Iredell Memorial Hospital, but mostly was a homemaker, caring for her family.
Vivian was a member of West Minster Church of God, where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and enjoyed playing her tambourine. She also enjoyed working cross-word puzzles and reading her Bible.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Hailey Marie Allen, who passed away in June, 26 2015; five brothers, Carlton Smith, Ronald Coleman Smith, Stelford Lee Smith, Kenneth E. Smith and Dwight Smith and one sister, Jackie Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marshall Allen, Sr. of the home; three sons, Marshall Allen, Jr., of Concord, Reginald and Bridget Allen of Harmony, Steve and Leigh Allen of Statesville; eight grandchildren, Amber Marie Allen, Jessica Nicole Allen, Bradley Elliot Allen, Travis Lee Allen, Duncan Cole Allen, Cullen Joseph Allen, Carigan Nichole Allen and Megan Lorraine Allen; two brothers, James Eyrtel Smith and Gary L. Smith and two sisters, Helen M. Lowery and Letha Ann Hunt.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gary Helton officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Allen, Duncan Allen, Travis Allen, Cullen Allen, Michael Smith, Wayne Allen, Terry Campbell and Joe Coleman.
