Rev. William "Bill" Charles Pharr

Born June 27, 1933 in Iredell County, North Carolina, he was the son to the late Denver and Fannie Bennett Pharr. Bill founded Lighthouse Independent Methodist Church and pastored several churches in the Wesleyan Church. Bill worked for Southern Screw for 15 years. He also worked for Bunch-Johnson Funeral home as a funeral assistant for more than 16 years. Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and could make you laugh.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Pharr, Gurney Pharr, Harold Pharr, Jimmy Pharr, Katherine White and Aileen Adams.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory is his soul mate and loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Byrd Pharr; daughter, Vicky Pharr; granddaughter, Jennifer Rampey; great-grandchildren, Jessica Lee Minton and Drey Lynn Ball; sister, Zeloa Martinez and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2pm. Burial will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10 am at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service Sunday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
