Born in Buncombe County on July 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ray Lee Ward and Bertha Arrington Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Lee Seamon; brothers, Cecil, Robert, Richard, Leonard and J.D Ward; and one sister, Mae Ward.
Zelma graduated high school and on July 11, 1945, she married Thomas Henry Seamon, who survives.
She was a long-time member of Needmore Baptist Church in Woodleaf; worked as a seamstress at Mocksville Manufacturing and enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking and loved to read.
Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband are two daughters, Barbara Diane McDaniel of Woodleaf and Judy Kay Neal (Richard) of South Carolina. Also surviving are five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services honoring Zelma’s life will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Needmore Baptist Church 1620 Mt. Vernon Road Woodleaf, NC with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
