Elizabeth (McCurdy) Bruney

Elizabeth (McCurdy) Bruney of Portsmouth, Va. passed away on Sunday, May 24 2020 in Staunton, Va. Mrs. Bruney was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Fred Bruney, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Lester M. Rice; a son, Joseph W. Bruney; her daughter, Lindsay M. Bruney and fiancé, George W. Allison; his sister, Rebecca A. Allison and granddaughter, Emma Grace Elizabeth Whitesell. Mrs. Bruney was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Va. While living in Fairfax County for many years, she was a member of the Clifton Women’s Club, a member of the Arts Gala Committee at George Mason University, a member of Fairfax Symphony and other civic groups. Mrs. Bruney attended Roanoke College where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and a graduate of Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Radiology Technology. A private burial will be conducted at a later date.
