Abel Ramirez

Abel Ramirez, age 79, of Summit, Illinois passed away on Friday April 10, 2020. Abel was born December 24, 1940 in San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, where he was raised by his loving sister Amelia Hermosillo. He grew up without his parents present in his life and took care of the family ranch with his sister.

Abel enjoyed spending time with his family. When he wasn’t playing baseball, as he had done for many years in Mexico, he was teaching his grandchildren how to play as they got older. Baseball was a major pastime for Abel in Mexico that continued when he came to the United States. If he wasn’t playing sports he was watching them, his favorites being soccer and baseball. He liked to spend his time gardening, building and fixing anything that needed to be done. He was a very loving father and husband. A man loved by all who met him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Celia of 44 years, adoring children, Jorge (Melissa) Ramirez, Carlos (Melissa) Ramirez, loving grandchildren Katalina, Reilly, Alexander, Paige, Isabella, Carlos Jr., and Gabriella.

Services for Abel B. Ramirez will be private.
