With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully at 95 years old on January 1, 2026. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and fierce love shaped generations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Vega, who was forever held in her heart.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of seventy years, Agustín Vega, whose love story began in Chicago and became a lifelong testimony of faithfulness, perseverance, and covenant love.
She is survived by her children: Salvador(Suzy), Eva Marie, Juan, Martha(Juan), and Romanita(Carlos), through whom her legacy of faith, love, and service continues to flourish.
She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, along with countless others she lovingly embraced as family…because if you were near her long enough, you became family.
She was a woman of deep prayer, compassion, and quiet strength. She loved fiercely, served generously, and found beauty in simple things…flowers, stones, color, laughter, and stories of God’s work. Her life was marked not by loud achievements, but by faithful presence, sacrificial love, and a heart fully surrendered to God.
Her legacy lives on in the way her family loves, prays, serves, and chooses faith…even when it is hard. Though she has left this earth, her presence remains, woven into every generation she touched.
Her love story did not end.
It continues…written in us.
