

Francisca Leal Sanchez, 78, passed away on April 19, 2026. Born on September 12, 1947, in Uvalde, Texas, Francisca built a life marked by steady devotion, loyal presence, and a quiet wisdom that offered comfort to those around her. A resident of Berwyn, Illinois, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection.
Francisca attended St. Procopius Catholic School and Jones Commercial High School in Chicago, carrying forward a strong work ethic, practical determination and knowledge of business that would define her years ahead. Her kind-hearted nature and compassionate spirit were evident not in grand displays, but in the consistent care she showed through everyday words and actions.
She worked for CNA for many years and later retired as a Supervisor at UPS. Throughout her working life, Francisca was known for being hard-working and dependable—someone others could count on, and someone who carried responsibility with grace.
Francisca found joy in baseball, softball, and bowling, often sharing those moments with a team of colleagues. Her warmth and loyalty shone through—rooted in companionship, encouragement, and the steady kindness that made people feel included. She enjoyed spending time with family, often saying “Home Sweet Home.”
Her faith and community remained important to her. Francisca belonged to Las Guadalupanas at St. Odilo Catholic Church for 16 years, offering her time and presence with the same devoted spirit that shaped every part of her life.
Francisca is survived by her siblings, Hortensia Sanchez, Anita Sanchez, Jaime Sanchez and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Enriqueta and Flavio Sanchez; siblings Alma Ferrell, Irene Quilantan, Hector Sanchez Sr. and Jose Elias Sanchez; nephew Hector Sanchez Jr. and niece Diana Ferrell.
Visitation will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, Illinois 60402, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral service Friday, May 1, 2026. Family and friends can meet at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to follow in procession to church for 10:00 a.m. mass. Funeral Mass of will take place at St. Odilo Catholic Church, 2244 East Avenue, Berwyn, IL 60402. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Memorial Park, Stickney, IL.
