Howard J. Moy, 59, died September 21, 2011 at home surrounded by those who loved him.
A service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 27th at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park, Stickney, IL 60402. The services are being led by Pastor Raj Christodoss.
Howard was born August 8, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Jung You Moy and Kee Fung Cheung Moy. He had three older siblings, Stephen, Lilly, and Gary. Growing up in the Bucktown neighborhood he attended Wicker Park Elementary School from kindergarten thru 8th grade moving on to graduate from high school and culminating with him earning his Electronics Degree in 1978.
Playing baseball and catching and raising turtles were some of the things he enjoyed as a child. Being a young teenager he would spend some of his summer vacation at his sister’s house playing with her sons. Growing up he found himself enjoying the fast life, everything from drag races to motorcycles. He was a typical man growing up in the 70’s. In 1984 he had his first and only child, a daughter, Kristina. As he grew he began making the right choices for himself and his family. This was the beginning of his greatness. He eventually found Christ and was baptized August 28, 2011. He then married his long time partner, Robin, September 3, 2011.
Howard was a strong and respectable man, the rock that could always be depended on. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and friend always there whenever he was needed. He was a straightforward man. Never scared to tell you how it was or teach you the lesson that you needed to learn but might not have wanted to. He didn’t take the easiest path in life and didn’t always make the right choices but that never got him down. Thru all his adventures one thing he never stopped was caring for his family and this is what led him to be the great man we all know and love.
Howard is survived by his wife Robin, his daughter Kristina, step daughter Amanda, step sons Kenny and Brian, grandson Elijah, granddaughter Bailey, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Gary. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother Stephen and sister Lilly.
Howard, Howie, Dad, Goon Goon, Poppy you will always be loved & never forgotten!
