Kevin John Manion

Kevin was widely known for his infectious sense of humor and his lighthearted, joking manner. His cheerful spirit brightened the lives of those around him, and he could always be counted on to bring a smile to any gathering. Kevin was devoted to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was an avid sports fan; he loved the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs and watching games with friends and family. Kevin's dedication to service began with his time in the United States Army. He served his country with honor and pride, embodying the values of duty, respect, and integrity. After his military service, Kevin continued to serve veterans and his community as a Painter at Hines VA.

Kevin's legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched through his service and kindness. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted family man, a dedicated veteran, and a friend whose humor and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

Kevin is predeceased by his parents Eugene Donald Manion Sr and Dolores [nee Hesslau], brothers; Eugene Donald Jr and Keith Edward, sisters; Monica and Marisa, and nephew Sean.

Kevin will be missed by his loving wife Kate [nee Faivre]; son Kevin John Jr; step son Nicholas (Marie) Whisman; brothers and sisters Maeva (Fred) Barickman, Mary (Russell) Allen, Maureen (Anthony Martinucci) Hirschberg, Margaret (Richard) Yawger, Matthew (Denise) Manion, and Michele (Kevin) Oldendorf, sister-in-law Carole, former sister-in-law Veronica, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews, and countless other family and friends.

A visitation for Kevin will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, on March 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois will be announced at a later date.
