

Raquel B. Luna, 72, passed away on June 29, 2026. Born on February 17, 1954, in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, Raquel carried with her a steady warmth and generosity of spirit that touched the lives of those who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of Guadalupe and Julio Cesar Barron, and she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection.
Raquel’s life was defined by a compassionate heart and a loyal devotion to her family. She was a loving mother to her children, Ricardo, Julio, Cindy, and Jasmin, and a cherished grandmother to Alexis, Jayden, Layla, Alonzo, Junior, Delilah, Isabella, and Sophie. Her presence brought comfort and steadiness, and her care for others was offered quietly, consistently, and without hesitation.
Those closest to Raquel will also remember the simple joys that filled her days. She enjoyed cooking, sharing nourishment and tradition through the meals she prepared, and she found pleasure in watching novelas—moments of rest that became part of the rhythm of home.
Visitation will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, on July 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On July 8, 2026 family and friends can gather at Mount Auburn Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. to follow in procession to church for 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Nicholas of Tolentine, 3721 W 62nd St, Chicago, IL 60629. Interment will take place at St. Casimir Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60655, on July 8, 2026.
Raquel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the kindness she showed, the compassion she lived by, and the faithful love she gave to her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
