

Robert Jennings Bryan, 82, of Buffalo Grove passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024, in Hinsdale, Illinois. He was born to Eunice (Robbins) and Roy J. Bryan on December 17, 1941, in Bloomington, Illinois. He attended Metcalf Grade School and University High School in Normal, Illinois, graduating in 1959. Robert graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1966.
Robert’s first job was as a newspaper carrier for the Pantagraph. He was one of two Pantagraph carriers to win an all-expense paid trip to Washington D. C. to see the 1957 Presidential Inauguration parade. He was active in the Boy Scouts.
Robert married Barbara Ann Pawlas on June 12, 1965, in Normal, Illinois. Robert and Barbara raised their daughters, Bonnie Ann and Carrie Elizabeth, in Riverside, Illinois.
Robert was a computer programmer working in many languages on numerous platforms.
He enjoyed the out of doors, especially watching sunsets.
Robert was preceded in passing by his parents, a brother Phil Roy Bryan, and granddaughters Julia Hope Staubus and Ariel Lois-Lucille Talbot.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Ann Talbot and Carrie Elizabeth Staubus, Carrie’s husband Bradley Kenneth Staubus and their five children; the mother of Robert’s daughters Barbara Ann (Pawlas) Eberhardt; her son Eric Eberhardt; Robert’s sister Edith Lynn Plummer, and brother Harry Thomas Bryan.
