Ruth H. Shuma

Age 85, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, of Romeoville and Crest Hill, formerly of Stickney IL, was the loving wife preceded in death by husband Robert E. Shuma for 56 years. She was the caring, loving mother of Margaret "Marge" Mamolella (Frank) of Stickney and Roger Shuma (Alana) of Marana AZ, and the loving grandmother of Frank (Beth), J.P., V.J. and Betty Mamolella, and Christopher Shuma. Ruth was the loving great-grandmother of Grace and Jacob Mamolella. She was the devoted sister of June Colbourne.

Ruth was retired from JCPenney and a devoted Christian, actively participating in service to Westminster Presbyterian Church (Joliet) and formerly Faith Community Church (Stickney). She enjoyed bowling, bible study, playing card games, time with family & friends, and travelling with her husband. Ruth always looked forward to family gatherings and making her brownies and deviled-eggs to share.

A visitation will be Thursday, February 09, 2017, at Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Stickney, Illinois from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a memorial service and burial on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Mount Auburn Cemetery at 10:30 am. Officiating the service will be son-in-law Frank Mamolella.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth’s honor to either Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1015 Winthrop Avenue, Joliet IL 60435 or The American Diabetes Association.
