Betty was born April 5, 1937 to Stewart and Mamie Coy.
She married Richard Kenneth Watkins and to their union three children were born, Karen, Kregg, and Kevin. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family above all else. She had a gift of making people feel loved and special. This was apparent at every family get together that she and Ken hosted. Betty enjoyed delicious food and was a phenomenal cook. Three generations of family have wonderful memories because of her years of hosting holiday gatherings. Betty adored animals and many dogs and cats found a loving home with her over the years.
Betty had a personality that sparkled and was adored by all who knew her. She spent years working at Rich’s Department Store and developed many lasting friendships. She was known for her fabulous clothes and sense of style. She also had close relationships with her friends at Lilburn Christian Church and looked forward to their weekly fellowship and meals. Betty enjoyed her yearly beach trip to Daytona. She loved sitting in her chair near the ocean and soaking up the sun with her loved ones. The hotel always knew to have “her” room ready every year.
In addition to her parents, Stewart and Mamie Coy, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ken Watkins, and one son, Kregg Watkins. She is survived by two children, Kevin Watkins (Kelly) and Karen Ralston (Wes); eight grandchildren, Ryan Ralston (Wanda), Josh Ralston (Audra), Rachel Robertson (Peter), Ashley Meyers (J.D.), Brandon Watkins (Jennifer), Cyle Watkins (Amber), Blake Watkins (Lindsey), and Caroline Watkins; eighteen great grandchildren, Eli, Annabelle, Bryleigh, Emalynn, Landon, Madelyn, and Leah Watkins, Jade, Riley, Gracie, Abbie, Ruthie, and Rose Ralston, Jack, Sam, and Luke Robertson, Taytum and Coleson Meyers; as well as many friends and extended relatives. She will be missed by all.
