Bonnie T. Watkins

Bonnie Tanksley Watkins, age 84, of McDonough, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Fairview Memorial Gardens at 11 am. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.

In 1947 Bonnie married the love of her life, Marion F. Watkins, and together they raised 5 beautiful children. She worked 41 years for the Southern Railway in their accounting department rising to Chief Clerk in her last years of service. Bonnie loved sewing, cooking meals for her family, and telling stories of her adventurous childhood in rural NE Georgia. All who knew her loved her warm smile and quick wit; she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by: children, Dan & Debbie Watkins, Pam & Allen Barbee and Jeff & Laurie Watkins; daughter-in-law, Karen Watkins; grandchildren, Angie Adkins, Joe & Shanda Watkins, Amanda Watkins, Ben Watkins, Wren Watkins, Kyla Watkins, great-grandchildren; Hannah Watkins, Keith Watkins, Jared Adkins and Julia Adkins; siblings, Dot Guyton, Verlyn Tanksley, Hollis Tanksley and Wallace Tanksley; numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Franklin Watkins and sons; Kenneth Franklin Watkins and Gregory Curtis Watkins.
