

Bruce is survived by his wife, Theodora Hamby of Ellenwood, GA; two sons, Glenn (Sarah) Hamby of Louisville, CO and David (Meg) Hamby of Ellenwood, GA; one daughter, Joan (Terry) Nichols of Ellenwood, GA; three granddaughters, Melissa (Shelby) Walker of Flemington, MO, Lauren Hamby of Denver, CO, and Brittany Reis of Orlando, FL; two grandsons, Marcus (Natalie) Hamby of Hotchkiss, CO, and Brandon Hamby of Ellenwood, GA; three great-granddaughters, Lynze Walker of Flemington, MO, Seely Walker of Flemington, MO, and Braylena Hamby of Hotchkiss, CO; and one great-grandson, James R. Lorraine III of Orlando, FL.
Bruce was born on October 24, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA to Bernice Baumgardner Hamby and Richard Charles Hamby. He attended Excelsior High School in Downey, CA and Washington State University where he played football. He was a serviceman in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge and awarded the Infantry Badge. Bruce achieved the status of master carpenter and proved his skill while working as a construction superintendent for Moseman Construction and Bellamy Brothers Construction. He also worked for DeKalb County Plant Maintenance. He was a dedicated Freemason, 32nd Degree Shriner and Past Master. He was married to Theodora Watkins, his loving wife, in Richland, WA on October, 27th 1956.
The family of Bruce Hamby will receive friends on Friday, January 27th, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Horis A. Ward – Fairview Chapel the following day, Saturday, January 28th 2017 at 2 pm. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
